Student-Created Content - Screencasting on the iPadSTANDARDS ADDRESSED: S3, S4, S5, S6, T1, T2, T3
Creating visible thinking and learning processes has been a major focus in my own classroom, as well as with the educators that I coach in digital literacies and competencies. Screencasting is a tool that can be used in such a way, with endless possibilities for unique, student-created products.
I developed and/or facilitated the development of all the the materials below this school year, which include:

Student Examples
Screencasting can be used for capturing explanations, procedures, and thinking processes. In this example, the student is working with counting money for the first time and will be able to reflect on their learning and growth as they continue on with the unit.
|
This student is recording their levelled reading on Explain Everything. It allows the student to record, listen to themselves read, and assess their own skills and thinking. An added bonus is that it gives us a transparent assessment tool, too!
|
Screencasting can also be used to create polished presentations. This example is a product of inquiry and research in Social Studies, a slidedeck presentation created on Keynote, and a recorded presentation through the Explain Everything app for iPad.
